2008, A Year of Successes

Purkinje’s 30th anniversary was more than a celebration; it was first and foremost the culmination of multiple years of hard work aimed at satisfying your needs. Here is a short summary of this past year.

Our 15 000th user
On December 15th, Purkinje’s team installed its 15 000th user- an important landmark in the healthcare industry. Purkinje’s solutions are now installed in more than 1 200 medical clinics and various health centres across Canada.

A Growing Team
23 new employees joined the Purkinje team in 2008 to increase the total to 55, located within the three offices: Montreal, Toronto and Hong Kong (Shenzhen). This growth is attributable to new software development initiatives and the improved personalised customer support approach. |

A Whole Range of Solutions
A multitude of solutions were launched in 2008. Here are their summaries:
Purkinje - EMR: Amongst the new functionalities of Purkinje’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR), one will notice the Clinical Information Manager. The CIM allows for case management of chronic diseases, while allowing access to powerful management indicators.
Purkinje - Dossier: The suite for medical clinics was also enhanced. It now offers a scanning solution that allows for the digitalization of all existing and incoming documents.
Purkinje - EHR: The Electronic Health Record complements the EMR and allows providers, managers and patients, of a same region, to access and exchange clinical information using a secure web portal.

After unparralled growth in 2008, Purkinje continues with its momentum in 2009 in order to offer you a multitude of new solutions.

New Solutions to Come
Purkinje - Dossier version 4.32:
Some of the new features are: wave booking, lab orders and results reconciliation, and mapping of similar results.
A New Generation of Web Dossier
This new light solution with optimized ergonomics will be available on the internet in 2009.
Case Management
New case management solutions for asthma, diabetes, smoking cessation, antenatal record and baby record are in their final development phases.
Transcription
A transcription system, which can be integrated to second party dictation systems, will soon be available. |

Revamped User Guides
All user guides were completely rewritten taking a new approach. They are now structured to facilitate problem resolution. Their new simple format and their visual aspect make them easy to use.
These guides will soon be made available on Purkinje’s website. Hard copies will also be available upon request. More information about these new user guides will be available shortly.
