What started as a mission to make room in its archives department became an enterprise-wide solution that gives CHAUHDL’s caregivers instant access to patient files. With special attention paid to change management on both technological and human levels, the implementation of Purkinje’s computerized patient record (CPR) at this Hospital Centre was certainly a worthwhile project.

The Listowel Family Health Network (FHN) in Ontario was a typical practice drowning in a sea of paper with illegible, incomplete, missing and even duplicated charts (clinic vs. hospital). Nurses and doctors were repeatedly putting their tasks on hold in order to track down patient charts that were often at the other end of the building!
